Health Care Reform Watch

May 29, 2020

A Message From the Editor

It's often been said America has a "sick care" system and not a "health care" system, and that we focus too much on treating diseases and health conditions instead of preventing them. While focusing on preventive health overall is an idea worth pursuing, employers may not be the best positioned to lead the effort. Employee wellness programs have been getting mixed reviews for years, but the latest update on the success of a wellness program at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign doesn't bode well for their impact.
